Introducing
FenStop™ Fungicide
  • Your new solution for Downy Mildew, Pythium and Phytophthora Disease Control

2
FenStop Position
  • FenStop™ is a highly effective fungicide which provides superior long lasting curative and preventative control of Downy Mildew and Aerial Phytophthora with excellent crop safety. FenStop also provides an effective new tool for control of Phytophthora and Pythium root rot in ornamental production.

FenStop™ Fungicide
Overview
  • A member of the Imidazolinone family, fenamidone is active at the biochemical level thru inhibition of mitochondrial respiration by means of blockage of electron transfer.
  • The product is both a preventative and curative fungicide displaying a protectant residual, translaminar and acropetal systemic  activity.
  • In worldwide testing fenamidone has demonstrated effectiveness against a broad range of the Phycomycete fungi.  This includes the downy mildews ( Bremia, Peronospora, Plasmopara and Pseudoperonospora) as well as Pythium and Phytophthora.
4
Fenamidone
  • Fenamidone inhibits mitochondrial respiration by blocking electron transfer.  It exhibits good activity against spore germination and mycelial growth.
    • It is active as both a preventative and curative fungicide demonstrating good residual performance on ornamentals.
  • As a single-site mode of action fungicide, which is similar to that of the strobiliurins, there is a risk of resistance and cross-resistance.
    • Therefore, the use of  fenamidone will have to be managed to prevent the development of resistance to their similar modes of action.

Development Findings
  • Fenamidone has also shown equal to or superior effectiveness in control of downy mildew and aerial Phytophthora as a foliar application at 5.5-7fl.oz.
  • Fenamidone also prevents and/or controls Phytophthora and  Pythium root rot of ornamentals but at drench rates of up to 14 fl. oz.
  • Fenamidone and competitive products were evaluated as  single treatments on a 14 -28 day spray interval
  • Results of  the testing demonstrate fenamidone will offer benefits to commercial nurseries and other ornamental  professionals.  Key product attributes include:
    • Excellent plant safety
    • Excellent disease control performance
    • superior/equivalent to current competitive products

Downy Mildew control
  • In the 3 trials available FenStop (fenamidone) as a foliar application @ 7.0 – 42.0 fl.oz./100 gallons  ( 7-14 day interval) provided excellent Downy Mildew control up to 7 days after treatment superior to fosetyl and propamocarb.

Phytophthora root rot
  • Eleven  trials ( 10 preventative) demonstrate that FenStop (fenamidone) is extremely effective as a fungicide drench treatment for Phytophthora root rot.
    • The 14, 28 and 42 fl.oz./100gals rate range applied at a 7-28 day application interval is capable of providing up to 7-60 days control.  Trail #22 indicates excellent curative performance.
