- A member of the Imidazolinone family, fenamidone is active at the
biochemical level thru inhibition of mitochondrial respiration by means
of blockage of electron transfer.
- The product is both a preventative and curative fungicide displaying a
protectant residual, translaminar and acropetal systemic activity.
- In worldwide testing fenamidone has demonstrated effectiveness against a
broad range of the Phycomycete fungi.
This includes the downy mildews ( Bremia, Peronospora, Plasmopara
and Pseudoperonospora) as well as Pythium and Phytophthora.

- Fenamidone inhibits mitochondrial respiration by blocking electron
transfer. It exhibits good
activity against spore germination and mycelial growth.
- It is active as both a preventative and curative fungicide
demonstrating good residual performance on ornamentals.
- As a single-site mode of action fungicide, which is similar to that of
the strobiliurins, there is a risk of resistance and cross-resistance.
- Therefore, the use of fenamidone
will have to be managed to prevent the development of resistance to
their similar modes of action.
